Crossing the water your own way: Nephi, bro. of Jared, & Moses

I listened to a podcaster this week who said: “My mom overcame her same-sex attraction in two years with the help of the Lord.” I honor her journey. And I respectfully suggest that others have different journeys.

Imagine this. What if three prophets met, all of whom crossed a body of water?

Brother of Jared: “What are you doing, Nephi? Your boat has to be tight like unto a dish. God says.” (Ether 6:7)

Nephi: “Well, GOD told ME to build a sailboat.” (1 Nephi 18:1)

Brother of Jared: “Nuh-uh. I’ve been across the same waters from the Old World to the Americas. I know how it’s done.”

Moses: “Ship? Who needs a ship?”

Nephi and brother of Jared, in unison: “Huh?”

Moses: “You just hold up your rod and stretch out your hand over the water. God parts it and you walk through on dry ground. That’s how it’s done.” (Exodus 14:16).

All were prophets. All crossed a body of water — in different ways.

Maybe God’s direction to you is for your journey, and maybe God is saying something different to someone else.

Cross the water your own way, with God at your side.
